Brenntag adds further Capabilities in Personal Care

Global chemical distributor Brenntag AG (Essen, Germany) has announced the acquisition of Pachem Distribution Inc. (Montreal, QC – Canada) for an undisclosed amount. The company primarily distributes specialty chemicals and ingredients to customers in the Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, and Household, Industrial & Institutional (HI&I) Cleaning markets. It runs a fully equipped application and formulation laboratory for Personal Care, offering technical and research and development services for its customers and suppliers, Brenntag said in a statement.

The current President of Pachem, Paul Caghassi, will lead this business towards future growth and complement its service offering with Brenntag Canada’s Life Science Division.

The acquired business is expected to generate sales of ca. EUR 13 mn for FY2018. No financial details were disclosed on the transaction
