Brenntag to expand Market Coverage and Service Portfolio in Portugal and Spain

Global chemical distributor Brenntag AG (Essen, Germany) today announced that the company has signed an agreement to acquire Quimitécnica.com – Comércio e Indústria Química S.A., Portugal [“QUIMITÉCNICA”] (Barreiro, Portugal).

The company is a service provider, offering a wide range of chemical products, including customised blends, and also logistics and inventory management services. It covers various industry segments in Portugal the North of Spain and several African countries and operates from six strategically located sites. Brenntag said, it sees Quimitécnica as an excellent strategic fit.

QUIMITÉCNICA generated sales of EUR 37.0 mn in FY2016. Closing is expected to occur in the course of the next weeks, subject to contractually agreed closing conditions and regulatory approvals, Brenntag said.
