Enhanced Coverage of U.S. West Coast for Caldic’s Food Ingredients Activities

International producer and distributor of food ingredients and chemicals, Caldic B.V. (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) earlier this week announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Cooperative Purchasers (Vernon, CA – United States), a distributor of quality food ingredients serving the Food and Nutraceutical industries in the United States.

Cooperative Purchasers, a family business run by brothers and co-owners Sid and Richard Marantz, has been engaged in the distribution of food ingredients since 1961, initially serving the California and U.S. West Coast markets. Today the company offers a wide range of food ingredients, manufactured by some of the most prominent companies in the industry, Caldic said. Over the years the company has grown to become a large multi-regional distributor with distribution centers located in the West, Midwest, Southwest and Southeast United States.

No financial details were disclosed on the transaction, which Caldic said underlines its “ambition to become a leading food ingredient solution provider in North America.”
