Dow Chemical divests SAFECHEM

CBPE Capital acquires Sustainable Solvents Solution Provider

Global chemical company The Dow Chemical Company (“Dow”). (Midland, MI – United States) earlier this week announced that it has sold its wholly owned subsidiary SAFECHEM Europe GmbH (Düsseldorf, Germany) to private equity investor CBPE Capital LLC (London, United Kingdom), effective 01. January 2017.

 

SAFECHEM Europe GmbH was founded by Dow in 1992, then as a Joint Venture with a waste managemnt company. A few years later it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Dow. Today it is an experienced provider of services and solutions related to the safe and sustainable use of solvents in dry cleaningand surface cleaning. At its core is the closed-loop SAFE-TAINER™ system for the safe
and emission-free supply and take-back of solvents.

 

SAFECHEM says it is committed to the principles of Responsible Care® and Product Stewardship and develops new business models and services like COMPLEASE™ Chemical Leasing to optimise the balance between ecology, economy and social responsibility. With offices in Düsseldorf and Shanghai, SAFECHEM serves in close cooperation with a network of responsible distributors over 5,000 customers world-wide. Expert know-how around the entire cleaning process is offered by SAFECHEM via the CHEMAWARE™ Knowledge Services, the statement said.
