IMCD to acquire Specitalty Chemicals and Ingredients Distributor L.V. Lomas

International speciality chemicals and food ingredients distributor IMCD N.V. (Rotterdam, The Netherland), announced it will acquire 100% of L.V. Lomas (Toronto, ON – Canada), a distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients with activities in Canada an the United States.

L.V. Lomas was established in 1960. The company today has approx. 280 employees, located in six office locations in Canada and the United States, including Toronto (HQ), Montreal and Vancouver. In 2016 the acquired business posted sales of CAD 383 mn and an EBITDA of CAD 18 mn. IMCD said the acquisition will help to expand its geographical presence into Canda in all core markets and also further strenghten the U.S. organisation and coverage.

The transaction, which is subject to regulatory reviews, is expected to close at the end of August. IMCD is planning to pay the consideration from available cash and existing bank facilities.
