Paris-based Safic-Alcan takes over BIOCHIMEX

Specialty Chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan S.A. (Puteaux (Paris), France) has announced today that the group has reached an agreement to acquire API distributor BIOCHIMEX S.A.S. (Compiègne, France). The company is a distributor of APIs, amongst others also in technically superior “sterile grades”.

Established in 1982, BIOCHIMEX today employs a staff of 10 under the leadership of Bernard Goldenberg, CEO and Agnés Goldenberg, General Manager. Both will step down and will be replaced by Philippe Combette, CEO of Safic-Alcan and Jose Lora, Development Director Life Sciences, respectively.  BIOCHIMEX will remain independent and will keep its other employees.

The company expects sales of ca. EUR 10 mn in 2017, 80% of which is going to be export, mostly to Europe and the Maghreb region in  North Africa. No further financial details were disclosed regarding this transaction.
