Paris-based Safic-Alcan takes over another UK-based Distributor

Specialty Chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan S.A. (Puteaux (Paris), France) has announced  that the group has acquired 100% of the shares of Langley-Smith & Company Ltd (London – United Kingdom) through its subsidiary Safic Alcan UK Limited (Warrington, Cheshire – United Kingdom) for an undisclosed sum.

Langley-Smith was established in 1907 and is a specialty chemicals distributor with commercial activities in the United Kingdom, Ireland and in mainland Europe. The industry focus is on Adhesives, Paints & Coatings, Polymer Modification, Road Marking & Rubber Processing, Inks and Varnishes. It is also a significant player in the Beverage, Animal Feed and Detergency sectors, Safic-Alcan said in a statement.

No financial details were disclosed regarding this transaction.
