Producers
Producers of chemicals, polymers, minerals or natural ingredients are often very experienced and successful when it comes to the direct sales of their products. Regarding indirect sales and channel management issues, their knowledge is often much less current and robust.

Meet the team
Jürgen is a highly experienced Chemical Expert with more than 25 years of practice in chemical production, strategic planning, sales & marketing, business management and finance. Before working as Senior Advisor with DistriConsult, he acted as an independent consultant to the chemical industry and as project manager for 3rd party funded projects, gaining expertise on channel-to-market strategies and M&A.
In situations where the client project requires specific expertise and/or additional resources, DistriConsult uses industry specialists and subject matter experts from the company’s extensive network, developed over long years of mutually beneficial co-operation.
DistriConsult was established in 1999 by Marc H. Fermont, who had spent a distinguished career in the chemicals and polymers industry, working for more than 25 years at The Dow Chemical Company in five European countries.
He was supported by Philippe Vigoureux, a veteran of BP Chemicals with many years of experience in the industry, across the globe. At the time he was particularly recognised for his familiarity with the constantly evolving market dynamics of the sector in China.
From its beginnings, this “boutique” consulting practice specialised in channel management and distributor strategies. Under Marc’s leadership, DistriConsult expanded its consulting activities in the field of commodity and speciality chemicals and polymers, over time serving an increasingly global customer base.
Together, Marc and Philippe worked with producers and distributors on channel management topics and strategy development projects. As recognised industry experts, the two were involved in many of the buyouts that took place in chemical distribution during the first decade of the 21st century. Both regularly published articles and gave lectures and presentations on channel management and distributor strategies to both, professional and academic audiences.
After the decision to finally retire, Marc handed over management of the business to Günther Eberhard in autumn 2009. The two had successfully worked together for several years at Dow Europe during the 1990s.
In June 2013, Marc Fermont received the prestigious Fecc Award for his lifetime achievements, and his services to the chemical distribution industry.
