In chemical distribution, the acquisition frequency is to a large extend driven by “serial acquirers” like listed groups Azelis or IMCD. For these companies M&A transactions have continued to be major enablers of growth in 2022, and also in Q1-2023. Since the contribution from such transactions only shows up in the reported figures with a time-lag, the last quarter (i.e. Q1- 2023) captures mostly transaction “concluded” in 2022.
