Further Consolidation in Portugal and North of Spain

Global chemical distributor Brenntag AG (Essen, Germany) announced that the company has closed the acquisition of Quimitécnica.com – Comércio e Indústria Química S.A. [“Quimitécnica”] (Barreiro, Portugal). The acquisition agreement was signed in December 2017.

The company offers a wide range of chemical products including standard and taylor-made blends. It also provides logistics and storage services to various industrial business segments in Portugal, the North of Spain and several African countries.

Karsten Beckmann, Member of the Board of Management of Brenntag Group and CEO Brenntag Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) said about the transaction: “The acquisition of Quimitécnica is an excellent strategic fit to Brenntag’s existing distribution activities in the region and a platform to expand our market coverage and service portfolio in Spain and Portugal.”
