Caldic strengthens Specialty Chemicals in Great Britain
International producer and distributor of food ingredients and chemicals, Caldic B.V. (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) last week announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Elastomerics Limited (Macclesfield, Cheshire – United Kingdom) , a specialty chemicals distributor, to strengthen its capabilities in specialty chemicals with strong formulation back-up and technical support.
In the UK, Caldic has an existing presence in base chemicals, which are being supplied from two distribution centres, in Chesterfield (Derbyshire) and Melton Mowbray (Leicestershire). Apart from established Speciality Chemicals and Food Ingredients Divisions, Caldic also offers solutions in Health and Personal Care, Refinery Chemicals, and other Industrial markets. “The former Elastomerics business will continue to be run out of its existing base in Cheshire, ensuring continuity in the key relationships with suppliers and customers,” Caldic said.
