Caldic shows continued Sales and Profit Growth

International producer and distributor of food ingredients and chemicals, Caldic B.V. (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) has recently published its Annual Report 2017 under the theme “Aligned”. The group, which now consists of 23 companies in 17 countries. It operates 45 sites in 41 cities, has ca. 1’100 employees.

Operating Income (i.e. Turnover) increased to EUR 793.7 mn, up 5.5% from the EUR 752.2 mn realised in 2016. A Gross Margin of EUR 189.7 mn (equivalent to 23.9% return on sales) was converted into an EBITDA of EUR 62.9 mn at a ratio of 33.1 % (up 7.9% from the EUR 53.3 mn of 2016). This resulted in an Operating Profit of EUR 50.8 mn (up 10.2% when compared with the prior year).

DistriConsult comment: During 2017 the group also changed its financing structure, holding a significant cash position as per 31. December 2017, to faciltate its acquisition based growth initiatives (see takeover of Dutch company Acatris in February).
