Sales and Profit Growth accross all Divisions for German Distributor Biesterfeld

Polymers and speciality chemicals distribution group  Biesterfeld AG (Hamburg, Germany) has announced that the group has grown its turnover to a level of ca. EUR 1.2 bn in 2017. Operating profit increased to EUR 51.2 mn (up 11.1 from the EUR 46.1 mn communicated for 2016).

The family-owned company that employs a staff of 800 globally, said it is proud to “look back to  another record-setting year”. All four “operational divisions” (which are run as separate subsidiaries) contributed to the results which were based completely on internal growth as no M&A projects were concluded in 2017, Biesterfeld explained in a statement. As Q1 of 2018 was also a very successful one according to CEO Thomas Arnold, the group is “optimistic that it will be able to continue its success story of past years into 2018, despite persistent geopolitical and industry-specific challenges.”
