Edgar E. Nordmann relinquishes Operational Role at NRC
Family owned speciality chemicals distributor Nordmann, Rassmann GmbH (Hamburg, Germany), has announced that Edgar E. Nordmann has stepped down from the Board of parent company Georg Nordmann Holding AG after more than 50 years of service in the family owned group. The move, which was effective 30. September 2016 includes reqlinquishing management positions at Nordmann, Rassmann GmbH, ROWA Holding GmbH and Enorica GmbH.
Edgar Nordmann initially joined the family’s business activities in 1963 and was named Managing Partner in 1970. Together with his brother Carsten Nordmann, he significantly expanded the Group and transformed the former Natural Rubber and Cacoa trading company into a specialty chemicals Distribution group with 15 subsidiaries in Europe.
He is well recognised in the industry as a former President of Fecc, the European Association of Chemical Distributors. In his hometown Hamburg he has acted as the Honorary Consul of Malaysia for more than 30 years and served as the long-time Chairman of the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV – Ostasiatischer Verein).
