Official Formation of Brenntag South Africa (Pty) Ltd. announced

Global chemical distributor Brenntag AG (Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany) has earlier this week announced the official foundation of Brenntag South Africa (Pty) Ltd.  (Cape Town, South Africa), effective 01. October 2017. The new company has approx. 180 employees, located in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

This transaction follows the merger of a number of separate operating entities in the country, namely Lionheart, Plastichem, Multilube and Warren Chem Specialties, which Brenntag had acquired in recent years. Business activities include chemical distribution and services for Life Science (Food, Nutrition, Pharma and Personal Care), and Material Science (Plastics, Rubber,  Polymers and Lubricants), as well as Industrial Sales and Services.

Brenntag said it expects a more “focused commercial set-up” and has plans for a leveraging of the expertise and skills of the formerly individual companies, in order to realise higher growth.
