Brenntag to take over Kluman and Balter Ltd. and A1 Cake Mixes Ltd.

Global chemical distributor Brenntag AG (Essen, Germany) announced that the company has signed an agreement to acquire Kluman and Balter Limited (Waltham Abbey, United Kingdom) and A1 Cake Mixes Limited (Glasgow, United Kinddom), two companies specialised in the distribution of Bakery Ingredients and the development and distribution of Bakery & Confectionary Mixes. According to the statement, the focus is on higher value products used mainly by artisanal bakers, in-store bakeries and foodservice firms.

The business is expected to generate total sales of approximately  GBP 77. mn in FY2017. No further financial details were disclosed on the  transaction.
