Brenntag acquires the Distribution Business of EPChem

Global chemical distributor Brenntag AG (Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany) last week announced it has signed an agreement to acquire the distribution business of EPChem Group (Singapore, Singapore), a distribution company for performance chemicals, dedicated to waxes and wax related products for a range of industries and applications. It is active mostly in the Asia Pacific region.

The acquisition will include the company’s distribution businesses in Indonesia and China. In the 12 months until May 2016, the business generated total sales of approx. US$ 54.6 mn. The enterprise value of the business is US$ 26.3 million, according to the statement. Closing of the transaction is expected to occur in the course of the next months, subject to contractually agreed closing conditions.
