Brenntag acquires Petra Industries

Global chemical distributor Brenntag AG (Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany) announced yesterday that it has acquired Petra Industries (Fairmont City, IL – United States), a service company providing specialized liquid and dry blending, packaging and terminal services to various chemical industry customers in the Mid-South region of the United States.

Brenntag said, the acquisition will strengthen the mixing and blending business of its North American subsidiary, particularly in liquid and dry Food grade blending, a focus area within the company’s growth strategy in that geographic region.

In FY2016, the business generated total sales of approx. US$ 12 mn Brenntag said.
