Relocation to get underway for Brenntag’s Mülheim-based Staff
Global chemical distributor Brenntag AG (Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany) has last week held a ceremony celebrating the official hand-over of the keys to its new company headquarters in neighbouring Essen. Employees are scheduled to move into the new building in Essen-Rüttenscheid – named the “House of Elements” – in mid-November, Brenntag said.
The six-storey building complex in Essen’s Gruga Carree is the new headquarters of Brenntag AG, Brenntag Holding GmbH and Brenntag GmbH. With it’s gross floor area of around 20’700 square meters, it can accommodate up to 650 employees. The integrated underground car park has 246 spaces. Besides a conference zone and an employee restaurant, the ground floor also houses the Life Science Application Centre, where Brenntag develops and tests formulations for the Food and the Cosmetics industry.
Brenntag also said, the House of Elements has been built in accordance with the sustainability criteria of the LEED Gold Standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), a certification that considers a building’s features with regard to energy and resource-efficiency, indoor climate and pollutant emissions, as well as its links to local public transport.
