Caldic acquires Acatris in The Netherlands

International producer and distributor of food ingredients and chemicals, Caldic B.V. (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) last week announced that it has reached an agreement to  acquire Acatris Netherlands B.V. (Bunschoten, The Netherlands),  a supplier to the food processing industry, offering ingredients, services and solutions that “contribute to the production of high quality food”.

Acatris, which has a second location in Mechelen, Belgium (dba Acatris Food Belgium N.V.), boasts a strong knowledge base of ingredients and food applications. This is supported by intensive partnerships with major international ingredient manufacturers enabling the company to be a strong partner for its food customers, Caldic said in a statement.

The motivation behind the transaction is for Caldic to “strengthen its range of single ingredients and stabilizer systems. In addition, Acatris’ state-of-the-art facilities enrich the custom manufacturing and processing services Caldic offers, such as product development, blending, grinding, repacking and sieving of products.”
